Washing
This is a natural product so please use wool shampoo (as in our "essentials" section) or other liquid detergent for wool. Please hand wash or wash on a hand-wash wool cycle in your machine.
In our experience, like all wool clothes, any posseting/bribble down the front just wipes off without soaking in. This means that if your baby is feeding a lot through the night, he or she will stay warm and dry. Marvellous!
Cloth nappies
You may like to lanolise this bag and use it as a soaker with cloth nappies - if you fancy this, we would recommend wool all-in-ones, or wool PJs or a wool vest underneath.
Nightwear layering
As with all nightwear, you can layer inside and outside as necessary to keep your baby warm but not hot.
Wool
Wool is a wonderful temperature-regulator, slowing down the effects of changes of temperature and helping prevent sweatiness by absorbing moisture and releasing it in response to the environment. The health benefits of wool are being revealed time and time again.
For example:
- it is better for the health of premature babies if they are nursed on wool rather than cotton
- it is better for the skin of hospital patients if they lie on wool rather than polyester
- adults get a better night's sleep with wool around them!
American English
We think "sleeping bag" translates to "sleepsack", "sleeper sack" and "sleep bag". Do you know any more? Please let us know!
