Dungarees in Wool by Disana

"I just wanted to say how AMAZING the Disana merino dungarees are! They stretch and move with my baby without pulling or being restrictive... and they look awesome." Thank you Dorothy! It's so true - the soft, breathable Merino wool keeps chests and bodies warm and the dungarees flex with your child's every movement.
  • Gently hug the chest and allow your child to move
  • Perfect for wriggly babies and active children alike
  • Natural nut buttons for the finishing touch.

Washing
This merino wool is very soft and Disana recommend hand-washing. We wash ours on a gentle 30C wool cycle which is fine; they felt just a little. Please use a liquid detergent for wool such as that found in our "essentials" category which protects wool's natural oils.

Sizing
Please note that in Autumn 2011 Disana changed the design of these dungarees slightly and due to customer feedback we are now changing our sizing guide to match Disana's.

  • 50/56 = 0-3 months
  • 62/68 = 3-6 months average
  • 74/80 = 6-12 months average
  • 86/92 = 12-24 months plus. Recently pairs were bought for a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old boy, and fitted well.

The sizing is generous.

Photos
The younger babies in the photos are ours. The Navy pair of dungarees is being modelled by baby Constance and is 0-3m size. Constance is about 11-12 lb in the photo (5kg) and 60cm long. The red pair is being modelled by Eleanor and is the 3-6m size, which she wore until she was 8 months.

Drawbacks
The buttonholes for the straps tend to get bigger. We found they stay up well without the straps but some customers sew them in or tie them in. Despite this, mums and dads (ok, usually mums) come back again and again for these, as they really are great.

Feedback

"I just wanted to say how AMAZING the Disana merino dungarees are! I called your shop to enquire about colours and placed an order later that day. They arrived very swiftly. My baby's wearing them today and they are just fab. She's just mastered the art of crawling and these dungas stretch and move with her without pulling or being restrictive. She also wears cloth nappies and they fit beautifully. Lets just add to this the fact that they look awesome and what you've got is a brilliant item of clothing. We will be back for more!!!"
Dorothy, Somerset

"Hey there, well I'm sure you've had this a million times but those disana dungarees are fantastic. My son had 2 pairs when he was wearing cloth nappies and we had no worries with there not being enough room - very snug yet not at all tight. Warm and cosy but he didn't appear too hot (he was an autumn babe). Beautiful colours - we had the brown and red. By the time he was in the red ones he was wriggling and crawling and there were no problems other than the loose button holes that disana always have; easily fixed but i still wonder why they don't make em smaller! Other than that we popped him in tights a lot - which are always great with cloth nappies."
Amy, Burleigh

"I wouldn't do without the dungarees by Disana. They were brilliant - she got so many comments wearing them and they kept her wonderfully warm. Not only that, but the fit is great - they cling round the chest, so fit so snugly. I have ordered some more for her to wear this autumn and winter."
Ruth James, March

"Brilliantly soft and stretchy for my 5 month old. The only down side is that the straps and buttons are a bit fiddly."
Cecilia R., London

"My little girl wore her dungarees today and everyone fell in love with them. We went down to the beach and even tho they got covered in sand it just brushed off, hurrah for natural fibres!"
Naomi Majid, Swansea.
