Medium or thick?
The colours labelled 'new' are the new medium-thick knit socks and the plain colours are the last of the thick-knit.

Washing
Use a gentle wool cycle or rinse through by hand. Use specially-designed wool detergent (such as the one we sell) to maintain softness and prolong their life.

Is this wool organic?
This wool is not certified as organic. We have asked the manufacturer whether they will be moving to organic status, and he told us that the costs involved are prohibitive and that they won't be doing so. The wool comes from Patagonia, where the cold winters keep the sheep healthy, minimising the need for any chemical treatment. Very little of this fine wool suitable for hosiery (what a great word) is now made.
