From our experience, like all wool clothes, any ?posseting? down the front just wipes off without soaking in. This means that if your baby is feeding a lot through the night, he or she will stay warm and dry. Marvellous.
Customer feedback: "Hi! I bought 2 of your Disana sleepbags last year-they work so well for me!!! I often care for babies that are born addicted or alcohol affected I put these on my most miserable babies - some are startled very easy and hard to calm. I am telling you that these little wool bags have really comforted some miserable and agitated and precious little souls." E.F., Montana, USA
"The sleeping bag is great. We've found, however, that the button holes get bigger so we now tie a knot which works fine!" Emma, Abbeydore, Hereford. (Helen adds: Good feedback, thank you - yes, the button holes do kind of work themselves bigger over time.)
"Charlotte sleeps so well indeed now. Her cotton sleeping bag just didn't work, as she needed more freedom, and would always uncover herself when sleeping with a duvet. The woolen bag is so stretchy and warm enough." VG, London & Switzerland
Wool is a wonderful temperature-regulator, slowing down the effects of changes of temperature and helping prevent sweatiness by absorbing moisture and releasing it in response to the environment. The health benefits of wool are being revealed time and time again. For example, it's better for the health of premature babies if they are nursed on wool rather than cotton; it?s better for the skin of hospital patients if they lie on wool rather than polyester; and adults get a better night's sleep with wool around them!
Washing. The sleeping bag is machine washable at 30C on a WOOL hand-wash cycle or just rinse it through by hand. Wool shampoo is recommended.
Cloth nappies. Customers have lanolinised this bag and used it as a soaker with cloth nappies - if you fancy this, we would recommend wool all-in-ones, or wool PJs or a wool vest underneath.
Sizing.
Photos. The baby is around 5 months in a size 1 bag. The little girl in the chair is the baby two years later, at 2-and-a-half in a size 3 bag (which she is still using at nearly 3-and-a-half!).
American English: We think "sleeping bag" translates to "sleepsack", "sleeper sack" and "sleep bag". Let us know any more!
