Baby-bodies and vests are your baby's essential first layer! With organic cotton, silk/Merino wool and pure Merino options, your baby's delicate skin is protected while precious bodyheat is conserved.

When they have poppers at the crotch, vests are known as bodysuits or baby-bodies. They help keep the nappy on and don't ride up, keeping tummies and backs warm and comfortable.
Ones without poppers are known as vests and can also be worn as tops. Most of our customers choose them for older babies (especially when potty training!) and older children.

All vests

    Merino wool

    Soft, Merino wool baby-bodies provide warmth and breathability next to the skin.

    Merino wool fibres are particularly special. They're

  • naturally long and fine, creating a particularly soft, smooth wool, and
  • naturally "crimped", making the material lovely and stretchy, even after many washings,
  • non-itchy and won't irritate your baby's skin.

    Merino wool's softness and moisture-wicking properties make it an excellent choice next to the skin, preventing clamminess and helping to regulate temperature.

  • Unlike cotton, it keeps its insulating properties when wet - ideal for spills, possetting and wet-weather adventures.
  • Water does not soak in as with cotton - just brush off.

    The fineness of the knit means it is wearable nearly all year round. Pair with dungarees and rompers in Spring and use as an warm under-layer in Autumn and Winter.

    Silk mix baby bodies add the gentle, protective properties of pure, natural silk to your baby's next-to-the-skin layer. Silk and silk blend fabrics are our softest, gentlest fabrics, recommended for sensetive skins, eczema sufferers and for whenever extra comfort is needed.

    Why is silk so good for the skin?
    First, its hollow-fibre construction helps regulate body temperature. Secondly, it's also very breathable making it a healthy underlayer. Moisture is absorbed and released outwards away from the body. And, as the whole world knows, it's very soft and gentle to wear.

  • Our pure silk is certified organic by IMO and is of very high quality. We have chosen dye-free, chemical-free bourette silk for our range which we believe is excellent value. Bourette silk is spun silk and has a warm, natural feel.
  • Our silk/cotton blend combines schappe silk with organic cotton. It is excellent for problem skins, including eczema. It's one of our highest-quality fabrics and has a soothing, calming effect on the skin.
  • Our silk/Merino wool blend makes a wonderfully soft, fine fabric which is breathable and moisture-wicking. By absorbing moisture produced by the skin, and allowing it to evaporate, your baby's temperature is kept more stable. The combination of silk with the properties of Merino wool (see the Merino section above!) makes these warmer vests perfect for any Autumn, Winter or Spring day.
