This pure wool baby blanket is traditionally made by John Atkinson in the UK, in fact in the lovely county of Yorkshire, and is called Atkincel.
A note on using blankets for sleeping: duvets and heavy blankets are not recommended for babies under 12m. For those choosing to use a blanket for young babies, or to supplement your sleeping bag, choose lightweight breathable blankets such as this cellular blanket - as used in maternity hospitals. These can easily be layered, are light enough to tuck under to prevent them from riding up, and have a safer open cellular weave.
100% pure new wool. Hand wash only in luke-warm water(very seldom necessary) or in the hand-wash wool cycle of your washing machine.
Here is what the makers say:
"From the very beginning of the process we ensure that only the best natural fibres are used to create our beautiful blankets. All of our woollen blankets are manufactured from raw wool to hand finished blanket at our mill in West Yorkshire enabling us complete control of the full process. Wool is 100% natural and is nature’s performance fibre being one of the earth’s most sustainable resources."
