What a great way to put it. I sometimes wish I couldn’t read the current guidelines too! I think then it would be much easier to follow my child’s cues.

We too weaned before 6 months – actually 4 months for us as our little one cut herself down to just 4 bottles of formula a day by this time, what a worry, but turns out she just prefers food to milk. Theyre all different and I guess they cant read current guidelines themselves and just know what they want or need.

Comment on Struggling does not equal failing by Tracey https://www.cambridgebaby.co.uk/blog/?p=1814&cpage=1#comment-106252 Fri, 21 Jun 2019 15:32:03 +0000 https://www.cambridgebaby.co.uk/blog/?p=1814#comment-106252 Ahh yes, she does look like butter wouldn’t melt. The first year is such a roller coaster and there is so much conflicting advice from everywhere. I would say trust your gut instincts and what works for you and your baby because being a parent is the hardest job in the world.

She’s just started wearing her reusable nappies now they fit a bit better. Having a few leaks so will probably lanolise the cover just to make sure!

Comment on To routine or not to routine? by Tracey https://www.cambridgebaby.co.uk/blog/?p=1784&cpage=1#comment-104255 Fri, 29 Mar 2019 14:56:15 +0000 https://www.cambridgebaby.co.uk/blog/?p=1784#comment-104255 I don’t know how old Molly is but I just feel in myself that a reasonable routing for daytime naps seems to work well for all the family – maybe try again in a week or so. Of course its not always possible for a routine depending on circumstances, illness etc. All our 5 and now grandkids have slept well on a flexible routine. I was recently handed my 5 month old granddaughter for a weekend with parents at their wits end through lack of sleep, and laid her in her cot around 10 ish and then 1.30 ish everyday. She did cry a little for the 1st day but I gently laid my hand on her chest but no eye contact. She soon settled well into 2 naps a day and slept better at night. Good luck.

They are so cute and soft and keep babies very snug and comfortable at night.

Molly has a Disana sleeping bag and nappy cover, but we haven’t had a chance to use either of them yet. She is still a bit small for the sleeping bag and we haven’t got round to lanolising the nappy cover yet! Did you lanolise yours? We advise customers to do so on the website, but some have feedback saying it wasn’t necessary.

We would add a Disana sleeping bag – basic one, is fab and theyre very generous. Also the Engel snugglesuit is easy to put on and very suitable for the carseat and sling. The Disana wool nappy cover/ shorts are great even over a disposable nappy to help little bottoms breathe.
