A super-shady organic cotton sun hat to give you much need extra shade with its broad brim, excellent fit, adjustable cotton band and a chemical-free certified sun protection factor of between 20 and 80, depending on colour. Band colour may vary.

This sun hat is made from organic cotton with natural UV protection.

All of Pickapooh's sunhats including the fireman sunhat are made from 100% organic cotton. If you have a look on the label it should say 100% baumwolle (KbA) the “KbA” stands for “kontrolliert biologischer Anbau” which is German for “certified organic farming” and the abbreviation for organic cotton certified by an independent institute, which in the case of Pickapooh is GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard.

The organic cotton is GOTS certified by IVN. Organic cotton is better for your child, cotton farmers, garment makers, their families and the environment.

By choosing organic you are making an investment not only in the health of your child but also in the world they will grow up in.

The Pickapooh organic cotton offers UV protection at three levels; UPF 20, 60 and 80. The ultraviolet protection is free of any chemical additions. All items made from these materials reliably safeguard from the damaging effects of UV radiation.

PICKAPOOH sun protection is certified according to the most stringent rules of the UV-Standard 801. This standard tests real wearing conditions and offers reliable UPF values regulated by Stiftung Warentest. “UV protect” labels awarded by the UV-Standard 801 are attached to each garment.

Please wash this hat on a 30oc cotton cycle.

A small amount of shrinkage may occur in the first couple of washes, but the clothes are made slightly bigger to accomodate this. Air dry, and re-shape while damp if necessary.

To help all your clothes last longer, always air dry rather than tumble dry.

To reduce calcium build-up which can contribute to a hardening of your clothing, add a little vinegar to your rinse cycle.

Brilliant - wouldn’t be without my 2

"These have a perfect size brim for me for gardening or leisure.
My gardening one got so filthy I’ve put it through the wash a couple of times with eco stain remover and it’s come out well, if faded with use. Perhaps it shrank very slightly but it has stretched back now.
I keep my other one for ‘posh’! It’s very payable into a handbag if not needed.
Gorgeous choice of colours- I’m tempted to get another."

Very practical

"Very practical sun hat. I bought two of these - one in orange and one in turqoise; one for my husband for his birthday and one for me (him to have first preference on colour each time we wear them). So far (with the little sun we've seen!) they've been great. Very practical as they fold up easily and are lightweight, provide good all round shading, the ties enable a tighter fit to the head if windy, and organic cotton (the main reason I purchased them). The colours I purchased are gorgeous and blend well with lots of our outfits. Haven't needed to wash yet; hope there's no shrinkage or other issues."

A nice sun hat for adults as well as children

"I bought this sun hat for my partner. His head measures about 59cm and the size is just right. The material is sturdy, but not thick, so a nice material for a hot day. We chose the navy colour, but the colour is darker than in the photo . Also there is no lighter contrast band like on the photo, the hat we got was dark navy all over."

Sunday I can actually wear!

"Very pleased with this hat. The wide brim means plenty of protection, and the tie means it’s adjusted to fit and doesn’t blow off in the first puff of wind - a problem I’ve had with other broad-brimmed hats."
