"I chose this partly for the broad brim, but mostly for the adjustable fit, ideal for a three-year-old who has always needed to size up in this respect. I was not disappointed in the design, and although it will clearly last some time, it fitted him comfortably once adjusted and must have been reasonably comfortable from the fact that he forgot to take it off even when he went indoors. Later that day, however, I discovered that the tips of his ears where they had touched it had a blistery rash on them, which has never happened before. It might be just coincidence, and wouldn't put me off getting one for myself, but I'd be inclined to wash before first use for a young child or someone with sensitive skin, just to be on the safe side."

"We recently moved to South East Asia where the UV is rated Extreme. I have bought 2 hats from Cambridge baby. Both are excellent hats. My 2 year old son is very happy wearing them for outdoor play and for swimming in the sea or pool. They really do get a bit stiff with the water so have not gone floppy at all, and give excellent coverage. It has a wide rim and I feel confident that he is well protected from the strong sun. I have hand rinsed these in water to get rid of salt and sweat and they have retained their shape very well. The other hat I brought has a tie string to make it slightly tighter and it has stayed on even on bike rides without the need for a chin strsp. When he outgrows these I will definitely be ordering more to be sent from Cambridge to Asia!!"

"Really good quality hats (you get what you pay for). I bought two hats for my twins as they both hated me tying on hats under their chins. I was sold on the internal band holding the hat on and although they are a little large at present the hats stay on - yeah! The label inside is also big enough for a name and telephone number - just in case someone has a strop at the park. I haven't had need to wash them yet but I think they'll be just fine."
