A warm and practical children’s jacket made from 100% South German virgin wool from Merinolandschaf sheep. The roughened knitted fabric is soft and comfortable on the inside, while the outer surface is naturally wind- and water-repellent, making it particularly well suited to outdoor wear through autumn, winter and spring. The pointed hood provides extra protection in cooler weather, while the fold-over ribbed cuffs can be adjusted as a child grows, helping to extend the useful life of the jacket. Two generous front pockets give plenty of room for cold hands and the inevitable collection of stones, leaves and other treasures. This jacket forms part of Engel’s limited Locwool collection, made using wool sourced from shepherds in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg and manufactured in Germany. Because only limited quantities of this regional wool are available, the collection is produced in restricted numbers.

Engel locwool is made from 100% virgin wool from South German Merinolandschaf sheep, sourced exclusively from shepherds in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Engel has worked with regional shepherds on the project since 2019, with the aim of restoring value to locally produced wool and supporting regional sheep farming. The wool is 100% mulesing-free, renewable and locally sourced, helping to shorten transport routes and support fair prices for shepherds. Wool from these sheep is naturally breathable and temperature-regulating, and in Engel’s outdoor garments the finished fabric has a wind- and water-repellent outer surface.

Hand wash at up to 30°C using a wool detergent; do not wring or tumble dry. Reshape while damp and dry flat.

The wool comes from Merino sheep in their natural environment, which are organically farmed and therefore live a healthy and stress-free life. The usage of pesticides is forbidden both on pastures and on animals.
