Women's Scoop Neck Vest Top in Merino Wool and Silk

"I have three of these scoop neck vest tops. I love the colours - walnut, copper, copper and natural stripe! I bought the olive one for my daughter and that's lovely too. I have slept in them camping wild in icy conditions, I have worn them as a warm layer for sailing or out walking, I wear them out and about. And I wear them for 'every day' at home because I love them so much! They are soft and comfortable and warm. I sleep in them if I'm feeling cold. It's true what they say about not needing much washing - I wash them occasionally, wool wash 30 C using recommended wool detergent. I also have three of the simple vests, which are equally as versatile and much loved!"

"Warm, soft with a reasonable sized scoop neck. I also has a long enough body to stay tucked in but it is going to slowly bobble as it already has a few. The washing instructions say can use machine wool wash and slow 400rpm to spin but most machines don't go that low so I used a towel instead. Also placed in a net and washed with other wool items (bought from Cambridge B) that haven't got any bobbles after 2 years. So rather good but not brilliant."

"I have 3 of the long vests and now a long sleeve top. They are warm, lightweight and non scratchy. They wash incredibly well (machine wool wash) and keep their shape. They don’t harbour odours either - an overnight airing will suffice) so can be worn on repeat. Needless to say, I wear them on rotation as a base layer all winter. The only downside - the moths love them too - take precautions!"

I wouldn't really recommend this to a friend.

"I returned the item because I found the colour a bit too muted. The fabric was thinner than the Engel merino wool and silk version that I usually buy and live in throughout winter. That said, the Engel tops have declined in quality over the years: they are larger, thinner and more expensive.

Cambridge Baby were, as always, efficient relating to the delivery, return and refund."
