Wool terry is wool knitted in a terry stitch, which is plain on one side and has lots of little loops on the other. This gives extra warmth by trapping more air but is still light and flexible.
It's knitted in Merino wool, a wool fibre that is particularly fine, soft and springy and not at all itchy to most skins. The Merino sheep usually thrives in mountainous areas at high altitudes and its wool is naturally brilliant at keeping the body comfortable at a wide range of temperatures.
All certified organic wool comes from sheep which have been farmed organically and with high animal welfare standards. At Cambridge Baby we always make sure that no wool comes from farms which practise mulesing.
Wool balances the body's temperature while letting the skin breathe. Its high lanolin content has an anti-bacterial effect.
They should only need washing from time to time. Hand wash with one of our liquid wool shampoos in our fabric care section.
To hand-wash dilute your wool detergent in cool water, max 30C (lukewarm only, should feel coolish), in a bowl. For heavily-soiled areas, use a little gall soap on your woollens first, testing on an inconspicuous area first.
Add your woollens to the bowl, gently stirring and squeezing the detergent through. Rinse using water at the same temperature, otherwise your wool will be subjected to "shock" and might felt up. So lukewarm/coolish at 30C again.
Things not to do! Don't wring, soak, brush or rub vigorously as the wool fibres may be damaged and your garment felt up a little and shrink. Just squeeze the water through.
To dry, gently squeeze water out and wrap your wool clothes in a towel to remove the excess water. Air-dry naturally avoiding direct heat. So, hanging on a drying rack over the bath is good, or on a clothes horse.
Re-shape while still damp.
"warm and cozy! our bedroom is rather chilly, so I wanted something that would keep the baby warm under her merino sleeping bag. generously sized, so will fit for a while. I hand washed it with wool detergent without any problems."

Sizing: A little generous
I'd recommend this to a friend.
"Our 8 month old has been wearing these since newborn when they were somewhat large on her but still kept her snug and cosy whilst she slept. As autumn draws in the colder weather, she'll be back in these super cosy sleepsuits soon. The colours are lovely and bright - we have both blue and red - the wool is soft and warm and the size is more than adequate to cope with cloth nappies and fast growing babies. Easy to care for on wool wash with wool shampoo."

"My son wore this last winter and will wear it again next winter. It looks a bit funny but he loves to wear it, especially as it keeps his feet warm in his sleeping bag."
