Disana's GOTS certified organic standard is so high that even oils that lubricate knitting machines have to be analysed. Disana's whole garment (not just the yarn) is certified as organic, so that you can be assured that their dyes are baby-safe, eco-safe and that all cotton threads and finishes are natural too.
All certified organic wool comes from sheep which have been farmed organically and with high animal welfare standards. At Cambridge Baby we always make sure that no wool comes from farms which practise mulesing.
Please note that under EU labelling regulations, stating the type of wool is not allowed, only a statement of "100% wool" or "new wool" is allowed. However, this garment is organic Merino wool.
The Merino wool fibre is very fine, soft and springy and is not itchy at all to most skins. The Merino sheep usually thrives in mountainous areas at high altitudes and its wool is naturally brilliant at keeping the body comfortable at a wide range of temperatures. Wool (and thus Merino wool) has many benefits.
Merino wool is the wool of choice for baby and children's clothes, as well as for sportswear, because it's finer than most other wools. It's naturally springy (which makes it softer) and has a tight crimp, allowing it to trap more air, making clothing lighter as well as softer for the same excellent insulation.
Merino wool has also been proven to absorb UV across the whole range of the spectrum, giving excellent lightweight sun protection in the summer too.
"Bought for my youngest grandson, now 2 and still going strong. So soft, warm and comfortable and the bittons are so easy and pracical for dressing/undressing. Pricey, but great quality as ever. Excellent delivery service from Cambridge Baby"

I'd recommend this to a friend.
"This is the best sleep bag, especially when using the Disana wool diaper covers. For overnight, it's a little damp on the bum, but never wet, no signs of leaking onto the sheet, and no diaper rash. It's so nice having a sleep bag that works with her diaper system and doesn't require regular washing. Baby's crib area is usually around 74-76F (plus gentle breeze from an oscillating fan), and she seems quite comfortable in this bag with a long sleeve onesie - no signs of being too hot or too cold. Baby is 5.5 months (75th percentile for height and weight) and will fit in the size 1 for about another 2 weeks. I've just purchased size 2 and 3. Bonus: surprisingly quick delivery to the US! (less than 2 weeks) I've been extremely impressed by every Disana product I've used. I recommend this brand to every parent. Very thoughtful products, comfortable for baby, well-made and durable."

"It’sa very good sleeping bag. My baby seems to like it, and it works for a good range of temperature. In winter we use it together with a wollen blanket. The straps are very long, but I’ve crossed them when my son was smaller. I’m contemplating getting the next size up once it’s a bit cooler."

"It is now summer and my baby has outgrown this sleep sack, but it was such a great choice for us during the first few months after her birth in winter. We co-sleep and it reassured me that she was warm and cosy without having to be under any blankets, which kept her safe. We also used the boiled wool sack by Diana, which is the next step up in warmth. That sack was a bit easier when it came to nighttime nappy changes as it had a zip, but this one posed no issues for us. This sack also allowed my daughter to move more freely than the tighter, swaddle-style sleep sacks, which she liked (she's a mover!). And of course, she looked so sweet and cute in this! Such lovely memories of her sleeping in this gorgeous sack."
This was washed... Handwashed once or twice with no issues. Never needed much care as if stayed clean.

"Used since the beginning of autumn and it seems to have kept my son at a good temperature for naps and nighttime. The natural stretch in the wool is useful for getting it on a wriggling toddler! No zips to faff about with but I find the spare buttons on the shoulder straps a little annoying, it would be good if they could be secured so they stay inside."

Cloth nappies Customers have lanolinised this sleeping bag and used it as a soaker with cloth nappies - if you fancy this, we would recommend wool all-in-ones, wool PJs or a wool vest underneath as well as our lanolising "wool cure".
